People Of Balochistan Deserve Better, Pakistan Committing Genocide

Here's a scenario for you – imagine someone comes to your house, takes everything you got, makes you feel like you do not belong in your own house and to make it worse, they become violent and in the end, they never leave. How will this make you feel? Furious and angry right? And you will do everything in your power to get back what's truly yours.

Guess what this is happening in Balochistan but just that they are unable to fight back instead they are suppressed and killed like its nothing. All this is happening, but nothing is changing.

Here's a glimpse of what's happening in Balochistan – just remember the words cannot truly describe the actual scenario.

The bodies are dumped like roadkill by the side of the road. There are times where bodies are found piled up in a shallow mass graves in mountains. The bodies bear the marks of torture – broken bones, cut-off limbs, mutilated genitals and burn marks. In most cases, the bodies are so badly disfigured that visual identification is impossible.

All these horrific incidents are taking place right under the nose of the international community. Balochistan. The largest province in Pakistan, Balochistan is in the southwest of the country at the edge of the Iranian plateau, and now, it has become a 21st-century killing field.

As per human rights organizations, there are thousands of forced disappearances and unlawful killings taking place in Balochistan as a result of what Amnesty International has described as a ''Kill and Dump'' policy. Who is responsible? Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency, military intelligence, and the Frontier Corps (a federal paramilitary force).

They use the "Kill and Dump" policy as an instrument of terror in their campaign to suppress the province's struggle for independence.

Indeed, any Baloch who dares to raise their voice above a whisper is labelled a terrorist or a traitor and is at risk of being killed. "They can be a far-off relative but having any connection to someone who supports the freedom of Balochistan can easily be made a target.

Pakistan is exploiting the region which rich in mineral wealth. Province is the largest region of Pakistan (comprising 44% of the country's total area), but it is the least inhabited, with only 5% of the total population, and the least developed.

Much of the population lives below the poverty line with limited or no access to education, jobs, electricity, and clean water. Many are forced out of their homes without due process or compensation.

While such atrocities are taking place in Baloch, Pakistan continues to act dumb and ignore all the signs. For too long, the Baloch have suffered in silence.

We Owe Them. Everyone Owes Them.
